Good for Anonymous.

I wish British Columbians would have stood up to Gordon Campbell the way that Wisconsin-ians have stood up to Scott Walker (and HIS gang of puppets).

i sincerely hope that gordan campbell is not so severe as Walker - his bill contains a whole litany of radical, destructive proposals which go far beyond labor/bargaining

you could start a "bc_fights" LJ community - and link up with others slowly being formed

take care

He wasn't as severe - Scott Walker sounds like he's as megalomaniacal and batshit crazy as Big Mo Khadafi.

However, when he and his gang of sockpuppets took office, they began a systematic war on ordinary British Columbians. They made it more difficult to get social assistance, and they immediately started cutting social programs, even ones that didn't cost a whole lot. One of the first things that was cut, it seemed, was a running club for kids that operated out of Ray-Cam community centre (which services the Downtown Eastside, the poorest neighbourhood in Canada). It cost $30,000 a year to run, which is peanuts to Greedo and co.

For the record, British Columbia now has the highest child poverty rate in the country or at least is pretty damn close.

I'm hoping that Wisconsinians (Wisconsin-ites?) are successful in pushing back against Walker and his ilk, because that might mean that there's hope for the rest of us.

(Gordo isn't our premier anymore - his replacement was picked on Saturday - but I'm sure his legacy will continue in his party.)

wow - that's terrible

yes - there's stuff in his "budget" bill like reducing aid to pub schools and sending it to private; supporting home-schooling and prepping to dismantle pub ed; removing assistance (rights?) or something to gays...

you're very welcome to add madison_fights and repost this and contribute anything else

it's a VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY which i can hardly comprehend in my heart of hearts
