I hate the term "global warming" - climate change is so much more accurate. "Global warming" makes it sound like the earth is uniformly getting hotter, which it's not.. some areas cool, some areas warm. People are like, "Well, it's cold out, so global warming doesn't exist!" lol..

And I agree that global cooling is a possibility, we predict warming based on what we know but there are also so many unexpected things that could happen..

a LJ friend thought i dropped her cuz she used "climate change" - but it was also other reasons which were pointless to try to explain

i don't like "climate change" partly because it allows right-wing crazies to say, "oh well, that just means the weather is changing - like it always does" - and other reasons

i don't feel like arguing about it though

Hmm, that's true. I guess the lesson here is that right-wing crazies can twist any phrase to make it suit their own interests, so it doesn't really matter which set of words you use! ;)
