#1: Russia is being invaded by a giant toilet plunger...

In what could have been a scene from the film Independence Day, a luminous ring-shaped cloud could be seen hovering over the city of Moscow last week.

The pale gold 'halo' could be seen above the Russian capital city's Western District on Wednesday, and was captured on film by stunned Muscovites.

Meteorologists rejected any theories of the supernatural however, calling it an optical effect.

A spokesman from the city's weather forecast said: 'Several fronts have been passing through Moscow recently, there was an intrusion of the Arctic air too, the sun was shining from the west – this is how the effect was produced.'

He added: 'This is purely an optical effect, although it does look impressive.

#2: There are at least a half dozen Arabic radio stations in Sydney,Australia.

#3: David Grey, Coldplay, and Hugh Laurie are all the same person, and that's why they've never performed on the same stage.

#4: China and Google are also the same person.

#6: We will finally realise that Global Warming exists when we notice the huge WAKE being made by the moon.

#7: I could have won a Nobel Prize after all.

#8: Although I completely cleaned my laptop, there's a Korean running around inside it, IM'ing in Chinese, and practicing Japanese NANBA,

#9: Someone calls my phone every day from Chicago and leaves the sound of a giant refrigerator on my answering machine.

#10: I ate my last canister of Pringles yesterday.

That. Is Fucking. Creepy.

#7. You're probably right.

#9. Someone calls my phone at least every other day asking to order pizza from Domino's.

#10. That's really, very sad.

first, thank you for your concern for my deceased pringles friends. i will miss them, especially right now...

the large donutish pizza cloud: yes, but like most things these days, it can be taken as a powerful, looming omen, or as some daffy coincidence skidding through ephemeral internet popularity...

speaking of pizza: if someone kept doing that to me i would become very fat from the suggestibility... i eat your pain...

and #7 - yeah, really, it's true - i had enormous potential once. now i try to ignore the loss and simply rejoice over ... well, the simplest things

That looks like a mushroom cloud in the picture to me. A bit too high up to be looking at the bottom of it from quite that angle - but still. I wonder what they're doing in Moscow that we don't know about - that cloud looks so freaky and unnatural (but beautiful, despite it's unreal look).

#8 For real? I don't know if you should format it or just back away from it slowly as you dial 911.

#9 makes me wail with laughter - sorry. That's just about the funniest thing I've ever heard.

#10 - You're out of Pringles™, too? They're so addicting, and so not good for you.

it's weird - but weird things do happen by chance - it looks liquid, or like air suddenly rose up, kinda like ATOM BOMB, which is what my fourth grade teacher called farts - anyway, it strangely forsaged today's balloon boy...

yes - a korean hijacked via IM - so i've taken a number of steps, like erasing all wMESSENGER files and asian language files, etc. and the "nanpa" thing came from his use of nampaup.exe file - i thought i got rid of him - maybe i did - but someone shut down my comp again tonight - after hours of trying to correct a firewall/virus-scanner problem with McAfee... so eh...

yeah - the fridge on the phone - that's what it's like - but i chose to be funny - i'm wild funny i am

you are so right about pringles - they were just my i forgot what you call it - greedy pleasure or something... anyway, due to my CFS, I FORGOT just how bad for you they are (i sued to POST about how bad they are!) - and i also FORGOT how TASTY YUM YUM they are

that's a very impressive cloud. I wonder how it was accomplished (or if it's a photochop).

no - i don't think it's photochopped - i think i read that a lot of various people took pics...

actually, i would expect no less than such weird phenomena during such a drastic change in the arctic yes

That's a creepy picture, but really amazing at the weird things nature can do... if it is nature. :)

i do think it is nature - something thermal - but yes, nature is fascinating

today i just thought what an amazing thing "EATING" is - i mean, what is it - what is energy - time - space - it is all fascinating

and i thought, we try to know the MIND of the multiverse, a spirit, a nebulous whisp, the soul of all things in meditation - and we try to do this by overlaying lines and directions and math and quantities on it - so there is wonder that the result is a dash of it all, in the heisenburg uncertainty principle, in observation itself mutating reality...

that is where the only understanding lies - in MIND
