Actually, a sad thing is here: Here at school, we learn ALL AUSTRALIAN history, mostly. Not much American. In fact, I know shit all about your history, just about. Unless, you study past the normal history class. They don't teach anything else Haha.

actually that's sweet - i read this cool aussie hostory book when i was a kid - it was an old one - mostly talked about the euro adventurers and such - but i was into that - but it made me feel like yes - aussies do really study their own history - and that makes me proud

surprising though - a bit - that such an ally would not study U.S. history, since the U;S. is suposedly the center of the universe... that also makes me proud

and i'm now glad to see australia is waking up to doing some serious shit about it's water probs - it is such a leader in environmental progress - so it's about time - (damned labour gov't!)

the whole olympics thing in sydney was totally awe-inspiring!

I didn't think of it like that; your right!
I'm voting for the Greens when the next election comes up. I don't seem to like the other parties, "promises"...

I loved it when the olympics was here. I actually watched a lot of it. Usually, I don't pay so much attention to sport. :p

i was so proud of australia during those olympics! and what a great place for them!

note - did you know the american relay runner hahd cfs? - she had to go home because of a relapse. the relapse was caused because people were intimidating her!

Why the hell did they pick China? Every comes from this magical place called, "China". XD

No, I did not know that...Oh wow...I feel slightly intimidated when I have to serve an American person at work...Not sure why. It must be the accent.

a main prob right now in australia, as i gather, is that it relies heavilly on cola-burning power plants - that's why it was one of the two countries which didn't approve the Kyoto agreement. so that issue, plus water, seems like a great cause to take up. solar power - (duh!) - is the way to go for australia, (plus maybe a few nuke plants - who's it going to bother down there?) australia has been possibly THE main leader in solar-power research, so it shouldn't be so difficult actually being a a leader in executing those dreams. if australia transitions before everyone else, and does a few other things, like get in good with india, it will actually have the chance of becoming a major power in the world, possibly out-placing france.

John Howard has suggested we could have nuke power plants - There was a huge debate over it. I think it was going to cost us way too much money. We haven't really got the population like some other countries - but, there are going to be some major issues here, getting worse over the next few years.

i'm not pro-nuke - but i can give some leeway due to global warming - it might make sense for a few large populated cities

i would prefer however that the anti-nukers in your country win out

what we need to find are

1 - cheap ways to convert salt water into fresh water

2 - cheap ways to convert water into effective hydrogen fuel

#1 is a good idea. Must needed here.

#2 would allow us to still be able to drive cars...it may get so bad that we may not be able to drive cars anymore... using electricity as power will only make things worse...
