That makes me sad. We made our own problems are we can't seem to fix them... All because, the Governments think otherwise...It's such a huge problem though. You can't blame the Government totally.

no - power, or the will-to-power, is more to blame - and that's everywhere - that's what gov't listens too

i think mankind has always had a problem seeing much farther than his own nose

you know - at least religion has been good for this: when otherwise civilisation would have been built only on the temporary wants of short-term individuals, religion has created long-term belief systems and some morals which have helped us build pyramids and such, beyond the short-term. so maybe you are right - maybe there is a huge need for religion to get on the environmental bandwagon - although i personally don't need it's extra baggage.

I'm not really into the whole religious thing. But - At this stage, it would really help push things along in terms of Global debates and whatnot. It's almost like a cult, you know. I see some religions like that - Without taking personal needs/conceptions into consideration, really...

religion tends mainly to be about selfishness and the pretension that one is not being selfish

Mmmm 5% fat... But, really, who would have thought that people who can't reason make bad decisions. Shocking. I can't view the second one for some reason. :o(

well - yes - it makes sense - except that it isn't often associated in real life - we tend to defer to the individual's choice, or else scorn him/her for being "a bad person" - but we should be compassionate and realise they are just brain-dead

as for the second point - i'm trying to figure out why that happened if i can

We're a big Easter Island! @ @

we really fucking are - i also make that analogy a lot

but hey - chocolate bunnies, ham dinners, virgins on parade - ok - sounds good to me

but - related point - i am beginning to wonder what that bird was out on the nearby island which created the "bird man cult" on easter island. i don't know. I am wondering if the kiwi was out there, with it's gigantic eggs. more at 11...
