happy new year!

I'm so sorry - I've fallen behind in comments.  That happens sometimes with me.  I'll brb!  I've been spending a lot of time talking with Ashley, and it's very nice.  We've changed, and mainly gotten better.  I think we kinda like each other ...

Here's the song that we both loved at the very "end" of things, last year.  And here it came along again last night.  Ashley played it, and it made me...  well... here it is...

This Year's Love - David Gray

This years love had better last
Heaven knows it's high time
And I've been waiting on my own too long
But when you hold me like you do
It feels so right oh now
I start to forget
How my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feeling like you can't go on

Turning circles when time again
It cuts like a knife oh now
If you love me got to know for sure
Cos it takes something more this time
Than sweet sweet lies
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
And when you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
This years love had better last

So whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don't you know this life goes on
And won't you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
This years love had better last

If you've never heard it, please listen to it some time - k?  Cuz then you'll find my heart there.

A nice night again again this last night.  But the night also brang three specters of death:

- Ashley spoke of her dog who died around March - very sad.

- A close relative had an odd night which rather frightened me, but she is OK now.

- A dear LJ friend is dying of cancer.

Ashley and I think of a future, in sweet and caring baby steps.
