I avoided it. Now I'm a member. It's just a way to buy thing via the internet w/o having to go though all the credit card numbers etc. over and over. It's safe. I'll need it when I sell stuff on eBay so people can pay me. oh yeah!

there is also another email from "ebay" floating around that tells you that you have to verify account information or your account will be deleted.


It is not ebay. If you are concerned, go to the ebay site and sign in there. You will find no information on screening for fraud that requires re entering account information like the email suggests.
