I was thinking about how some men are praised because have a singular purpose whereas virtually identical men are regarded as stupid damn fools. The critical thing which decides how such a man is regarded is usually something like how much money he has, whether he wears a white collar, if he is attractive, whether he is tall or has big muscles and/or a low voice - or sometimes if he proves himself, over the course of say 70 years, to be consistent, trustworthy and attentive to appropriate ass. Luckilly, there are almost as many determined women in the world as there are men. Some women will stick by their missionary man until the day that he succeeds, and trounces all naysayers, or else declines into a wallowing drunken life in the gutter, especially if their man is, say, someone convicted of murder, or someone known to make trouble throughout the town, or such. For, all they really want is a little love and dedication. Sing it. Sadly, in the modern era, the great pool of available determined women has been siphoned away into the womanly career world, just so families can afford to eat. Therefore, we are currently plagued by a dearth of successful missionary men, and a great abundance of fools and deviants, one branch being the family of mass shooters. And all that.

But, the point is, what person is a great missionary leader, or which person is a real fool or jerk, is pretty much arbitrary, usually depending on often pathetic politics. Great sages can be mistaken for fools, and also the reverse. In stultifying, conservative, or fascist societies, anyone who simply acts differently, unpredictably, becomes and outcast, a target and an example. Whether or not I am one or the other is forever up for debate, should anyone actually care to debate, and the real truth is that we don't get to be judged until we are long cold in the ground. But, for instance. I started a non-profit for very altruistic reasons, and all I got from people was, "Why are doing this?!" Just because, in some societies or ages, people will just jump at any change to show off how supposedly cynical they can be, thinking themselves clever, when they are in fact the fools.

Or the time some guy was arguing with me, and I gave a really well-reasoned, cogent response, to which he exclaimed, "ah, you don't even know what you're talking about!" When, in fact, I was very on the mark, knowing exactly what I meant, and very much connected to reality. I knew exactly what I was talking about. But, to some people, the more certain you are, the more they consider you the fool. And they elected extremely uncertain fools like Biden, and allow them to determine their lives - that they would pay 15% more for living than they did the year before, so certain are they of their expertise in distinguishing wise men from fools. It's a carp shoot, I tell ya. And I mean that most literally. It's a shame that many of the really wise men amongst us end up so frustrated by a life of being treated with such disrespect, well, they act out. Which is a big mistake because then they just fulfill the role of the fool.
