Songs That Will Forever Remind Me Of Movies...

Here's just a few for now...

"You Spin Me Round (Like a Record, Baby)" - Adam Sandler in The Wedding Singer

"(Sometimes), All I Need Is The Air That I Breathe..." - Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

"Don't You (Forget About Me)" - Breakfast Club

"Pretty In Pink" - Pretty In Pink

"I Believe In Miracles" - Nick & Norah's Infinite Play-List - (It always bothered me that the baby-boomer directors never used the Tom Tom Club version, especially since they purported to feature NYC bands).

Anyway, let's get this list going. Any songs that will always remind you of some movie???

My computer is being crazy now so I might have to do the whole reboot ritual soon..

PS: Re: "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (from Wikipedia) -

Forsey asked Cy Curnin from The Fixx, Bryan Ferry and Billy Idol to record the song, but all three declined; Idol did later perform a cover of it on his 2001 compilation album Greatest Hits. Schiff then suggested Forsey ask Simple Minds who, after refusing as well, agreed under the encouragement of their label, A&M. According to frontman Jim Kerr, the band was reluctant to record the song as they felt they should only record their own material, relenting after persuasion from Kerr's wife at the time, Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, and a phone call from Forsey in which he expressed his admiration for the band.[1] According to one account, the band "rearranged and recorded 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' in three hours in a north London studio and promptly forgot about it."[2]

Also, I heard that Simple Minds didn't want to record this song unless it removed the words, "Vanity / Insecurity." I think that's interesting.

I had to look that up - but I've heard it before. Cute little satirical song. Thanks for a somewhat obscure reference - yet that song was covered by a lot of peeps!

This is the End - Apocalypse Now
Walk on By - The Breakfast Club
Ninth Symphony - A Clockwork Orange
Can't Take My Eye Off of You - Conspiracy Theory
I Can't Give You Anything But Love - Bringing Up Baby
I'll Never Love Again - Everyone Says I Love You
War - Rush Hour... "What is it good for? Absolutely na-sing"

I could keep going if you want. I didn't even realized I watched so many movies.

I think you are some kind of bot. How can you live your life with all these movie songs going on in your head?!

"This is the end" - That one doesn't remind me of the movie because I've heard it so many times before, mostly on tacky FM DJ shows. I think there is another song to that movie which would do it for me but I can't remember what it is.

"Walk On By" - I think the reason that doesn't work for me is because I am a big Dion Warwick fan. But you reminded me of, "Don't You Forget About Me," which definitely works - so I'll add it to my post...

I have watched like 300 movies in the last year or two and still I haven't seen a lot of the same movies as you! I tried to watch "Clockwork Orange" once but gave up on it.

The one that really kills me is "I can't take my eyes off you" every time I hear that song I imagine Mel Gibson watching Julia Roberts through binoculars on the treadmill and then the song stays in my head all day.

I sincerely apologise for any harm that this post may have caused.

"I can't take my eyes off you" - This just seems like a great Burt Bacherach song to me. But it's special to you cuz it sticks. I feel your pain.

I had a female friend urge me to watch a Julia Roberts film and I totally turned her off when I said that Julia Roberts looked like my sister, which was a great move on my part, lol.
