I might re-comment later since my brain is a cow.

OK, thanks, that's it, I believe. I think by the time I was wondering if it was Morrissey, it switched over to, "Bono."

I already eat too much salt: tonnes of sunflower seeds, etc. In fact, it helps blood pressure to ma tete, which is needed. But sometimes it hurts my heart. Anyway, I thought that about yeast, too, but sauerkraut doesn't seem to mind salt. Although - I think maybe its lactic bacteria in sk, right? I do take garlic and silver. Grapeseed extract is supposed to be good but who knows. I think my entire body is too far gone.

Birds: perfect comment, coincidentally agreeing with my views. Exactly what I mean. & Birds can be cads. I did get good info from a bird once. 'It' warned me of an oncoming cat. It really wasn't about the bird, the bird was actually warning me and my dog. Then it swooped down at it to defend us. Friends in high places.

I also like talking to squirrels. they are a bird of another feather.

"American Roots," is a great show! yes? (But if that is counted with the rest of the blues at my station, plus maybe 1 hr of various blues from other shows, that is 12 hours a week, beating out all other music combined).

I think I forgot who Steves is. My mind is on Rick Deese(sp?) They play this 1986 DJ on the oldies stn. It's like living in the 80's.

Isn't your HD stn better quality than over-air?

OK - I did the full comment, which could have been so much better but, eh. Thanks!

Personally I think most birds are much smarter than squirrels. I get the feeling that their every thought involves nuts. Gotta find a nut, gotta get this green shit off the nut, gotta bury this nut, gotta remember where I buried this nut, why are you looking at me while I eat this nut, gotta get away from that cat so I can hide this nut...

I do love American Roots... except when Nick gets all giddy about Bob Dylan. Growing up, my dad would listen to nothing but Bob Dylan. Basically my life from the time they brought me home from the birthing center until the day I ran away to New Mexico, it was Bob Dylan all the time. I respect the guy as a musician and a song writer, but I really have no desire to listen to him anymore.... but here is a gif I made of my older sister doing our version of Subterranean Homesick Blues. I spent a lot of time making sure the lettering on the the signs were exactly like the originals:

Rick Steves is that guy who looks like Bill Gates and had his own travel show about traveling in Europe. There was even a theory that it was Bill Gates in secret. Now he has a radio show about travel. That guy has the special skill of making anything boring. He's also obsessed with traveling to Estonia.

My HD channel has better shows, but actual sound quality is worse. Almost canny. Canny in high def!

Oh btw - my brain was crap when I commented. In fact, that was the same song going through my mind too: "I don't know what color your eyes are, baby..."

It is terrible what oldies stations are doing to this nation...

Well, squirrels have spatial thinking and amazing memory - but crows do too, and can use tools, so. On the other hand, crows don't have opposable thumbs, which means we should eat them and not squirrels. lol

I can imagine getting really sick of Dylan after a life like that. It's good that you do respect his music, nevertheless.

I think you should post all about your run-away to NM.

I don't own a single Bob Dylan song or album. Which is weird. I think he's great but also annoyingly weird. But, you know what? I imagine that it would have been SO COOL to have been alive at that time, in that atmosphere, with hippie friends, reading the Beats, smoking, protesting, growing up with Bob Dylan as god. Seriously. I can totally forgive the people who did that, all of whom are fuck-up shits today.

Nice gif but I don't know the original. I had to check the song title again this time - and the Wiki page was interesting - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subterranean_Homesick_Blues

I seriously wonder if you might just have a radio with a crappy speaker. I was always led to believe that HD was supposed to be this awesome thing...

I probably should write about New Mexico before I completely forget the experience.

If you ever do get an album of his, I highly recommend Highway 60 Revisited. It was the one of my dad's Dylan records that I would listen to when he wasn't home... getting caught using his record players would result in violence, so I had to be sneaky. The song Ballad of a Thin Man was too interesting to not listen to it.

I can get a lot of really nice HD stations, it's just that the NPR station sends out a low quality broadcast on their HD2 station. I think they'd rather you listened to it online so they can keep track of how many people are listening. It doesn't matter what speakers I hook the radio up too, that particular station always sounds bad.

That's actually an album I have been wanted to get some day.

Now that I think of it, I might have, "Desire," on cassette somewhere. I think that was also a great album.

With your past background, you should be a famous musician now.

"Ballad of a Thin Man," has become one of my fav Dylan songs, because it is so surreal. I guess people back then gobbled it up, thinking it was meaningful, but it makes no sense and that's why I love it.

During the revolution, we shall smite NPR.

OK. I thought so.

Hwy 60 is probably in Ukraine or something.
