Neil deGrasse Tyson Apologizes for Viral Tweet About Mass Shootings

Following the terrible mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton over the weekend, Neil deGrasse Tyson tweeted this:

Following the backlash, he has posted an apology on his Facebook.

Part of his "apology":

“My intent was to offer objectively true information that might help shape conversations and reactions to preventable ways we die. Where I miscalculated was that I genuinely believed the Tweet would be helpful to anyone trying to save lives in America. What I learned from the range of reactions is that for many people, some information –-my Tweet in particular — can be true but unhelpful, especially at a time when many people are either still in shock, or trying to heal – or both.

Another movie: "Once Upon a Time In Hollywood", greatly recommended. Review maybe later. Went home and watched another 1969-piece film, "Taking Woodstock," (again).

In between, walking home, some asshole kid comes riding at me on the sidewalk, and says, "Get off of the street, little boy!" He is cowardly looking away, hoping to garnish other black votes. I could have killed this jerk with what I had on hand. Stiff upper lip...
