The Origin of the Word “Soccer” - Today I Found Out
Today I found out the origin of the word “soccer”. For all you out there who love to complain when Americans, and certain others, call “Football”, “Soccer”, you should know that it was the British that invented the word and it was also one of the first names of what we now primarily know of as “Football”. The word soccer comes from an abbreviation for Association (from Association Football, the ‘official’ name for the game) plus the addition of … [See Oxford VIDEO].

This Is Why We Call It 'Soccer,' Not 'Football' | HuffPost
Jun 13, 2014 · The word "soccer," which is believed to have originated in Britain some 200 years ago, comes from the official name of the sport, "association football." As other versions of the game evolved to include Rugby Football, it is believed the Brits adopted colloquialisms to distinguish each game.

Hundreds of years ago, there was a distinction of two forms of football - one being Associational, or Soccer  This is the kind of football - (soccer) - played in the World Cup, even though many in the UK started calling this Football, in rebellion against Americans who called it soccer, because America also had a new game called football.  Pettiness.  Soccer is a little like basketball, because the players get do do a bit of hands-off dancing around each other. RUGBY evolved when a player at Rugby School defied the rules and simply carried the ball all the way to the goal.  Rugby is more hands-on and rugged, but it is a derivation of soccer.  American football goes one step beyond and allows the forward pass, which is not allowed in the other two games.

Although early football (soccer) might have evolved independently in Europe, it might also have been adapted from the Aztec foot-ball game, named Foosball, played with human heads and cocaine and where the quarterback is allowed to give birth on the field.

Alcohol does NOT make men more abusive to women who turn down their sexual advances, controversial study claims, but it DOES make them more persistent for sex

Peru may have already been knocked out in the group stages of the World Cup, after disappointing 1-0 defeats to Group C opponents France and Denmark.

But if the tournament was based on stop smoking rates, not football, then the South American nation would have clinched the prestigious trophy.

"Today," (Tuesday), is the 162'd birthday of Nikola Tesla. That would make him about twice as old as Bernie Sanders, so he couldn't date his sister. Who was Tesla? He was the genius who took a different path, but rivalled Edison and others. Our AC electricity systejm was divised by Tesla. With all the essential, patented parts that went into the radio, Tesla would better be said to be the actual inventor of the radio.

Nikola Tesla (July 10, 1856 to January 7, 1943) was an engineer known for designing the alternating-current (AC) electric system, which is still the predominant electrical system used across the world today. He also created the "Tesla coil," which is still used in radio technology. Born in what is now Croatia, Tesla came to the United States in 1884 and briefly worked with Thomas Edison before the two parted ways.

Many people think he was nuts, but that is all by the power of large corporations. And I guess he was nuts enough for the FBI to raid and confiscate his office, so. Really, Tesla was a great final flowering of the Austrian Empire, before it eventually degraded into NAZI Supermanism, with the help of our banks, corporations, and ideas on race, eugenics, highways, etc. Here is one place in the USA, though, were Tesla is celebrated a little...

Since I am just too ill of brain to make a meaty post tonight, I will just download into your brain fun information which may also prepare your for my later brief discussion on the power of consciousness.

First of all, you might like to recall a recent post called, "The Shape of Consciousness."

Next, here is my TESLA TAG! This will give you a little bit about his ideas of harnessing energy from basically nothing, or something to that effect.

Finally, you may look up the concept of the ether, (or aether). And you may search, "ether Nikola Tesla". The idea is that Tesla believed in harnessing energy from something called, The Ether, even though the concept of (Plato's) ether was finally and formally deposed with the emergence of modern theoretical physics. That will be our point of discussion. And also this: Ether is probably not just an energy, but a dynamic of information - or - consciousness itself. So, if we ever harness it, and fly around in our own personal spaceships, then we will be lving a DREAM, in more ways than one. Huzzah.
