Dangers in my life

I continue to be MIA. Ironically, while the AC was to afford me some relief and comfort so I would be able to write and get things done, I still have not yet gotten out from beneath the perpetual-cumulative consequences of all the exerting of buy and installing it, followed by shopping, and wine, and all that. Not to mention my insane computer/dial-up/internet slowness at times. Not to mention that I have so many potential posts to make, from a myriad of notes, I simply throw up my hands and beat myself around the head and neck, which is where my headaches and cloudiness reside. My brain has been so out-of-service, I simply cannot focus on anything, except occasional menials bodilly tasks. Cooking, watching a movie, these are me at my best these days. You don't want to hear about my worst.

I need to get offline because a phone call is coming in about eggs.

When I am a pied, and leaving Aldi's, I walk through a private gate and up a little muddy hilly with brambles and such. Prior to finding this short-cut, I used to have to walk all the way around Aldi's fence, down to the highway, then up various precarious rocks, and back the other way. But there is some kind of fast food place being built which has knocked down all the walls, including the secret gate. That's fine. I hope it is a Chipotle's. But, their car access roads seem like they aren't going to be able to attract a lot of cars. They go via, e.g., the Aldi's parking lot, which exits down the street. Everything else is so high up on a grade, there doesn't seem to be any direct access from this place to the highways.

Anyway, I was walking from Aldi's, through the absent gate area, and walked past a bunch of store-bought strawberries, strewn on the dirt. Next to them was a pair of giant dark sunglasses, with a tag still on them. They fit me great. But, remember those oysters with the cadmium and lead in them? From China? This is what the tag on the glasses says...

"Proposition 65 Warning: These products contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm. (And so forth...)"

I can't even put on a pair of glasses w/o getting brain cancer?!

So, my friends, you see the struggle that is my life.

Nothing in life is free. Mudslides are free, though. Roving bands of cannibals. Rabies. The wrong sort of bacteria. These are all free. So I guess it's all right.

One Step Beyond!

World Cafe is doing a show on all the videos played on MTv's first day. How awesome is that?! One of these songs is, "One Step Beyond!" by madness. Some of you know, this is my kind of music. I derived all my spiritual sustenance from English Beat.

But - I think I gotta go, and stop listening to this. After yet more excessive exertion today, I am hoping to run off into the night and see the movie, "Dunkirk," which is an English movie with and American budget, pretty much ignoring all Frenchies. Done by the same guy who made, "Intersteller," which I loved, and all that Batman stuff, which I hate, but have never seen. Which is a lot like religious faith, isn't it, lol.

So, the eggman never came by. Also, I paid off $100 to the guy holding my gold coin as collateral on the loan for my AC. Believe me. Do it this way if you can, it rocks. No real interest, just a one-time fee of $15, and he didn't even level that until after I started asking questions. Weird.

I did ahella walking today. Despite brainage drainage, I am proud to be a muscled zombie man. Got to two grocery stores. waited at second one for my bus - for an hour. Turns out, they had scheduled me for 6:30 am pick-up, instead of 6:30 pm pick-up. This is despite the fact that the scheduler had clearly asked me if it would be pm - and I clearly said yes.

I have enough brain problems as it is. being stuck in this town is like being in Green Acres, forever - except, it is more like the Titanic.

I got four more movie DVDs, as luck would have it. And renewed Typee, but the movies will prevent me from ever completing Typee. I should do my post about islands soon - esp. cuz one of my LJ friends is going to Neiu, which is a song by No Doubt. OK - I gotta run to catch this movie...
