Matchstick Men is great. I love Sam Rockwell's performances. I agree its implausible because how would his ex wife not have been more like uhhh? I haven't watched it in maybe five or so years but I remember finding that part the most implausible.

I have to tell you, I have discovered three or four new things because of you, including mother! Just now, I looked up Sam Rockwell... until now, I never realised that he played Zephod Beeblebrox in the 2005 "Hitchhikers Guide."

I never thought of Rockwell's performance as being great in this movie, so I'll have to watch it again for this. I actually own the DVD - I recently found it at Goodwill's. I did notice that Rockwell 'surprisingly' ends up as the bad guy in this movie, as he did in "Seven Psychopaths".

That part where the main character talks to his wife felt like it was tacked on half-heartedly. And I think the reason why is because the writers/directors realised that they were using it to BS the audience. I had to think back on the movie and ask myself if any of it could have happened in reality, and none of it could. And the girl turns out to be some kind of super-genius (who was ALSO part of the scam) just like the girl in "Hard Candy." I get angry when a movie tries to pull something like this on me. Another such movie is, "Logan Lucky."

BUT - I still really liked the movie for other reasons!

I highly recommend the movie Moon. I think it's one of Sam Rockwells best roles and that if it was more well known it would've won him some awards. Snow Angels is another great film he's done in which he plays a recovering alcoholic.

OK, thanks. I will try to remember these.

I just saw him in, "Cowboys and Aliens." He does have a good range of acting ability.
