Howdy, Stranger. Mind if I smirk?

It appears that there is a sudden rush of non-LJ people, reading a post or two of mine.  They probably found the posts by some search engine.  If you are one of these intrepid interlopers, please feel free to explore my journal further, via my labyrinthine* tag system, HERE.    (Maybe see also THIS).

To milk more exquisite satisfaction out of my tags, use your page-searcher, by hitting "F3" on your keyboard. If you are searching specific people, look only for the last name.

Thank you for reading, and please tell all your friends to drag me to the Magistrate.

When I had my free trial paid account I watched the dara and couldn't work out the views from non-lj people. All my posts are to lj friends only. Do you know who else could access them?

Ah, is it people reading my comments on other posts and then looking me up..?

No, but seriously. This is perplexing. No, I don't think that vicarious visitors could account for all the hits. I have no idea how non-LJ readers can be reading friends-only posts. If they were just bots hitting your journal, then they should not be able to get into f-only or private posts. But look at this:

A PRIVATE post which I made on the 23'd now has eleven visitors TL. If this is due to external viewers, and not a LJ programme fluke, then I assume the same was so in the case of your f-only posts: there were external viewers somehow. Something is very screwed up. I do wonder if it is corporate or state spying, or people or bots slipping through some hole in LJ's programme.

I also wonder if Yandex is involved in this. They have some association w/ LJ, and now have taken over Agnitum security technology. They have been considered malicious in the past. They have a browser now. I have their browser, but shut it all down, blocked it, etc., and do not use it. Yet new files appear on my computer, even when I don't use it. Very suspicious of Yandex.

The main hypothesis I am left with is that there is some dysfunction in LJ, letting external viewers through. In the past, I have heard others complain that their private posts were not private.

One peculiar thing: That post with 11 visitors? It has had only two page views. (Same thing for another private post with 9 visitors). That is a clue to be figured out.

I have considered that this weirdness w/ private posts may be due to an LJ flaw which is wrongly counting my own visits to the private post(s). But, if that were so, then there would not be a correlation between my frequency of visiting my LJ/posts, and the increase in "visitors", which there is not.

I have to say, I do now recall that your experience has also occurred here as well: DAYS of friends-only posts somehow collected lots of non-LJ visitors. I assumed this was due to those people visiting posts made on some other day/s.

Also, this experience with friends-only posts was not correlated to any increase of my visiting the day or posts.

So, there is no explanation, other than Russia is a very queer country.
