Yikes, that sounds close to apocalyptic.

Well, apocalypse is getting to be normal. One LJ friend, (you?), said they saw LA fires from their window. I heard a great electro-band on, "Echoes," last night - the whole show is worth listening to(!) - called, "Technicians of the Sacred," I think. They came back from playing a concert, to their home in Colorado, and there were flames across the river, hundreds of feet high. And neighbours were like, "Oh, don't worry. We'll be fine." So, the band took the gear they already had in their truck, and removed as much as possible from their house, and left. Their house burnt down.

I was talking to someone from San Fran the other day, and he had no concern about the coming BIG ONE, or the drought, and soon-to-plummet property values. It is sad to look at this naive resignation, especially when the whole country is due for an economic super-crash.

I have to keep things in perspective. At least there is water all around here, and the smoke is from another country.

btw - I forgot to note that there have also been fires in Alaska. Add that to the drought in Brazil, etc., and it is beginning to look like anything just east of the Pacific is toast.

That is alarming. We might either face a big flood or another dry one this winter. :/

I'm not from L.A., so I don't see fires out there.

Oh, that's right, you are San Diego area. My brain was fried. It might even have been a fire in another CA city.
