Ornette Coleman is dead. Arguably, the most influential jazz musician in later days, Ornette was a sincere pain in the ass to listen to. Up there with Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, and John Coltrane, Coleman did not play the saxophone so much as he played the Ornette. Listening to NPR, "FRESH AIR."
