Conspiracy Theory in America:

Scientific study reveals conspiracy theorists the most sane of all...

(NaturalNews) If you're a conspiracy theorist, then you're crazy, right? That's been the common belief for years, but recent studies prove that just the opposite is true.

Researchers -- psychologists and social scientists, mostly -- in the U.S. and United Kingdom say data indicate that, contrary to those mainstream media stereotypes, "conspiracy theorists" appear to be more sane than people who accept official versions of controversial and contested events.

The most recent study was published in July 2013 by psychologists Michael J. Wood and Karen M. Douglas of the University of Kent in the UK. Entitled "'What about Building 7?' A Social Psychological Study of Online Discussion of 9/11 Conspiracy Theories," the study compared "conspiracist," or pro-conspiracy theory, and "conventionalist," or anti-conspiracy, comments on news websites.

The researchers noted that they were surprised to find that it is now more conventional to leave so-called conspiracist comments than conventional ones.

"Of the 2174 comments collected, 1459 were coded as conspiracist and 715 as conventionalist," the researchers wrote.

'The research showed that people who favored the official account of 9/11 were generally more hostile'

That is interesting.

As a "left-wing ideologue," i tend to see the conspiracies as emerging one the "right" (The wealthy, the powerful == big business, government). I think the majority of conspiracy theorists see the threat as coming from the "left:" Communists, Jews, etcetera. Are the "left" and "right" theorists equally sane?

Is Natural News reasonably trustworthy?

Natural News has a variety of writers, and refers to countless sources, rarely untrustworthy. Many of the writers, however, do tend to be opinionated - so many articles must be read while filtering this. He, and others, tend to generalise that the corrupt powers that be are closely associated with Democrats or with liberals. Several other good right-wingers are guilty of this. That includes Alxx Jnnes sometimes. However, he very often does call himself a classical, Jeffersonian liberal, and decries most current "liberals" as being FALSE liberals, and instead zombie-like control freaks.

It is great to hear leftist conspiracy theorists or intellectuals these days, because they actually jive right along with right-wing theorists, unless they also devolve into partisan-type "blamalizing." I hear a lot of these people on right wing shows, where sometimes they hit a snag when it comes to one thing or another, but usually it rocks. That includes guests like Max Kaiser, or the fellow on the Canadian, "Conspiracy Show," the other night, many JFK conspiracy theorists, and so forth. I think they are equally sane, and equally insane when they get into the unequal blame-game.

You can read more when I post in the series. I am not presently able to discuss a lot at length and have suspended writing a few posts for now.
