Everything I say is only half true.

Since the above statement is only half true, then everything I say is only either 25% true or 75% true.

Since the above statement...

when i taught....

Everything i taught was about 15% awesome and 85% bullshit.
My problem is i never knew which was which.
So i just gave my students the statistic
and let them figure it out.

Re: when i taught....

that's a humble admission, but i am not surprised

at least you were able to teach - and the necessary truth will often prevail

i feel perhaps the aspergers, with the difficulty in interpreting metaphor and such, was part of the "problem" - but even someone without this should fess up to the same 15/85 problem, i reckon, since metaphors are made mostly not to represent truth or reality to students, but to inspire personal insight

i'm sure you tried to hew to the socratic method when you could, as well

Re: when i taught: Socratic method....

Yes, but i was no good at it. (Probably an autism thing also) so i lectured a lot more than i wanted to. Here is an example: A student asked me a question: i started to answer it. The student had to be elsewhere so she left. I continued talking. Later she returned, i was still "answering" her question.
