Quick (?) update: I haven't been able to find a place yet that meets the requirements we need for my disability, the cat (he benefits my son with autism and all of us, really), and within reasonable walking distance of a grocery store (though I've gotten a lot more lenient on that part, I'm not sure I'm capable of doing the grocery shopping myself via bus-- I can barely handle the four or so bus trips a month that I already do for doctor's visits). Not to mention something within my price range just to acquire-- they all want a considerable amount of money down. They did file an eviction last week, and I sent in my response (I've been feeling pretty unwell, and I don't even have the money to take the bus over there). Hopefully it made it there in time. Oh, and as of yesterday, due to the eviction, I have lost my housing assistance. I have mixed feelings about that-- yes the cheaper rent was very helpful, however if I make some other cuts in my budget, I should be able to afford it without it affecting our groceries. I may have to just try to go back to my old landlord. The current landlord is now harassing the other tenants that have yet to leave, including one family that is in the process of moving right now-- they only have a car to move stuff with, and it's a lot of trips, but still, they are actively moving. The landlord told the grandma there that she was going to file an eviction on them as well. Both of the remaining families have disabled members, as well. One of my ex-neighbors (who managed to find a place to crash, so she left quickly) was shocked when I told her that they are already re-renting out the units everyone just vacated. It's hard not to feel like they are against you when they simply replace you with someone else and the exact same rent (in my case, lower rent-- I get charged around 80.00 more than everyone else, and they will have to rent it at the lower price once I'm out). Oh, and the landlord actually accused me of being a DRUG DEALER. me. The reality is that my neighbors come over to my place because I'm the only one in the building who has a consistently working landline and computers with internet. To my knowledge, no one else in the building even has a computer. Also, since the neighbors who were the most trouble have left, we have developed a nice little community here with the families that are remaining-- we share food with one another, and pretty much everything else that one of us has plenty of and the other person doesn't have and desperately needs.

Anyway, so now I have an eviction on my housing report for all to see-- even if I won, which I doubt I will as in this state it's legal for a landlord to kick a tenant out for no reason...note to self, maybe getting new leases every year would be beneficial (that's the only thing that protects you from this sort of thing).

Anyway, yeah. That's all that's going on, housing wise.

That's not good to hear.

I can't write right now, sorry.

I suggest you find any place and use it to hopscotch to what you really want/need. You may end up homeless otherwise.
