I've heard about Artists Against Fracking before. It's a good cause and I'm glad some big names support it. There's a billboard up on a Youngstown freeway with the same kind of message. I don't understand how people here could have experienced the earthquakes caused by fracking in this place and still think that it's harmless. I don't want my home to be turned into another Dimock, PA.

That's good to hear.

What bother me about fracking is that it is virtually forever - the damages done. And it is so ruthless towards land and people - it is like rape in a way.

And then, zoom out, and see how sad it is, that our whole civilisation is beginning to get desperate for fuel, as everything else begins to deplete, and species falter from new viruses, etc. But it just seems so ignorant and cave-man-like, and really is not solving anything but making a few fools rich.

So many people can't see beyond their own pocketbooks. I think it was Santorum (could have been someone else, but I'm pretty certain it was him) who said something along the lines of 'God gave us the earth to use.' and it just disgusted me. I'm more of a believer that we're supposed to take care of the earth.
